Unfortunately, scammers frequently target job seekers with false cruise ship employment offers to steal personal information or money. To help you stay protected, we’ve outlined the most common signs of fraudulent activity and how to avoid becoming a victim.
1. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Securing a cruise job involves submitting a proper application, attending interviews, and processing documents. Be cautious of anyone promising instant employment in exchange for payment—this is a major red flag.
2. Legitimate recruiters will never ask for money.
Neither Carnival nor our approved hiring partners will request payment for job applications, uniforms, or medical exams. Any such demand is a clear sign of a scam.
3. We don't take the first step.
No job offers are sent until an application is submitted and thoroughly assessed through our process. You will only be contacted after we’ve reviewed your spontaneous online application. Any unsolicited offer of employment without prior interaction should be treated with suspicion.
4. Scammers use fake applications to steal your identity.
Fraudsters may send a bogus job offer, followed by a fake application requesting personal data for illegal use. Be extremely cautious before providing sensitive information.
5. You do not need a Green Card or immigration lawyer.
Some scams involve fake contracts and requests for copies of passports or payments for work permits or legal services. These are not required—and are not legal. Please refer to our Recruitment Process and FAQs for accurate information.
6. Scammers are constantly evolving.
New tactics are continually emerging. Stay informed and vigilant. If something feels off, trust your instincts and contact us directly for verification.
